Our department, which started education with 3 faculty members, 1 research assistant, and 56 undergraduate students in the 1997–1998 Academic Year, continues on its way with the goal of a qualified education. In the third year of our establishment, the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, where graduate education as well as master's education began, started to train Public Administration Doctors with a PhD Programme in the 2003-2004 academic year.
Our department, which aims to train future public personnel and, moreover, managers in the light of contemporary principles, also aims to develop the professional knowledge and skills of those still working in these institutions and organisations. The education given for this purpose is in line with the aim of developing our students' ability to understand and interpret social processes, and to examine administrative processes and political structures.
Work Areas of Graduates
Our undergraduate graduates, who are trained in line with the main objectives of our department, can work as public servants in various units of central and local governments and as middle and senior managers in public and private institutions such as financial institutions, banks, and the media. In addition, professional organisations in the nature of public institutions are also organisations where our graduates can work.
Students who successfully complete the Public Administration master's and doctorate programmes, on the other hand, meet the demands of the public and private sectors both at the country and regional level, as they are equipped to pursue a career in various fields related to public administration; they can also work as academicians in the public administration departments of universities.
